when there's no getting over that rainbow

So I'm driving to school like usual. The window's down (well, halfway down because if it goes any lower it gets stuck and that's a whole 'nother problem) and the wind is breezily breezin' my sweaty neck. I'm speeding by eight miles but it's okay 'cause I never see any cops on the way to class. Or so I thought because in the corner of my eye I spot the police car. Except it's too late to notice because in a few seconds I will be passing this small side road the cop car is parked. I decelerate but it's no use. It's my time. I hope the officer is nice..

Then out of nowhere this white SUV (which evidently did not notice the sneakily hidden cop) comes zooming past me in the next lane, the police car pulls out, the siren's on and they're on the side of the road. Any other time I might have been like, "Ha-ha! Sucker!" but I was too relieved and recovering from my near-ticket incident.

Anyway, miracles really do sometimes happen.


As of today my summer class is over! WHOO. I feel like most of my entries are written right after a semester is over. Shows how sparse they are, yeesh. If anyone is curious, I was taking Human Anatomy & Physiology where I got counted off for writing Ejaculation Duct instead of Ejaculatory Duct. ..Yeah.

I have not even listened to Beautiful World even though I have it. I know I know, you may shoot me now.

Speaking of things I've bought, I also picked these up at Borders because they're officially shutting down. I'm on my second read-through of THG, and I still love it. As for the upcoming movie? IS IT MARCH 23RD YET. Reading through the interviews, I absolutely approve of the cast.

And guys, if you have not read the first two books of The Kingkiller Chronicle (The Name of the Wind & The Wise Man's Fear) you are missing out. It is epic fantasy in writing and in length - as in it is freakishly long but I wish it was longer. It makes me laugh in tears and then spouts beautiful poetry, even though the main character hates poetry and poets, ha. Kvothe plays the lute - the LUTE. Innkeeper Kote gives me Nino vibes, seriously. Also, Patrick Rothfuss is a hilarious person in general; I follow his blog, lol. ANYWAY. Read it and I will too. It's next on my re-reading list anyway.

Man, I really need to stop with these 'anyway's.

Yesterday I drove to the mall with my friend for the first time. Mahaha. I'm so proud of myself just like a loser. There were SO many sales though. My friend brought home 6 shopping bags or so and I had 3. However, only one bag was for me and it was a shirt. The other two were for a friend whose birthday party is coming up. :o I hope she likes it. I find myself driving a lot lately too. I've had to drive my cousins home all week.

OH! I fished for the second time in my life on Monday. O_O And caught two big ones: a bass and a bluegill. My first fishing experience was in the 5th grade for a field trip. I'm pretty sure I didn't know half of what I was doing. I was probably nowhere near catching a fish back then. I just remember that we used salmon eggs as bait (or something like that). Now we use worms. Gah, they're nasty. I'm never touching them. :P Though I'm glad I'm starting to fish more often now.


My first two fish that I caught that day. =D They're still sitting in the fridge waiting for someone to cook 'em. Ehehe.

I also watched two movies at my cousins' house: Shooter and Ghost Rider. I didn't get to finish Shooter but I heard the ending was good. Ghost Rider was good too, just a little draggy near the end.

So summer government isn't all that bad. I thought it'd be a terribly long 3.5 hours a day but it actually goes by at a nice rate. The driving is crazy though. It's about 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back from my house. Eesh, there goes my gas. And so far I've gotten an A on every assignment which is great. After my report card this last semester, I'm gonna need all the A's I can get.

Good thing is that we get a field trip! To the city courthouse of all places. My dad showed me the way today but it still won't be the same. I don't like going downtown. I don't like one-way streets. I'm not even a good driver.

I've ordered my ice cream cake for my birthday party Friday. It'll be exactly the same as last year's though. XD I'm so unoriginal. Tomorrow I still have to order the Chinese food too. Mm, lo mein.

I also wanted to get a part-time job this summer after government, but sadly I'm most likely going to intern at my optometrist's office. Gotta think about my future but money sounds really good. T_T

My parents and I also stopped by my oral surgeon's office to get the 411 on my surgery date. I was supposed to have it done this summer. That got delayed to either Thanksgiving break or Christmas break. Now I find out that next summer is a more "realistic option." Gah, I wanted this over and done with. This pretty much canceled our plans of going back to Vietnam next year. Family trip.
